This is a rather nice-looking conversion.
Nice saddle, too.
Vintage Motobecane Grand Touring Fixed Gear Road Bike – $450 (Crown Heights)
I hate to sell it, but I now have more bikes than i have space for, so for sale is my 57cm vintage Motobecane Grand Touring Fixed Gear Road Bicycle. It was professionally converted from a 10-speed Suntour (VGT/Comp V) setup to fixed gear by Excelsior Bicycles in Brooklyn. We used a Sugino crank and Sugino arms. The pedals are new Fixations. This bike has a flip flop hub so it can be used as a single speed (you can coast). This is not a modern, made in Taiwan Motobecane frame. This is a vintage steel frame made by the original Motobecane in France. I still have all the original components including the crank, rear wheel, pedals, shifters etc etc (except for the fork) if you want to turn this bike back into its original 10-speed format.
The bikes rides smooth as hell, it’s super light, and it gets tons of compliments. Gears are standard fixed gearing (46×16). The original front and rear brakes are connected and work well. The saddle is a Brooks C17 saddle. $450 or best offer.
