Here’s another one of ours, a lowly ’69 Raleigh Record that has been re-imagined as a single-speed (alternately) foul-weather bike and work horse. Origin8 porteur rack in the front, Bobike small person transportation device in the back. We absolutely have no qualms riding it in rain/snow and on salt-crusted winter roads, as was the original intent— no Columbus tubing to subject to rust, delicate anondized rims to damage, or Campagnolo gruppo to foul up. Perfect.
Still, the frame is about as stiff as a cooked noodle, and we may say arigato, sayonara once a suitable replacement has been located.
