Seller mistakenly calls it the “Eddie Merckx Super Prestige” (based on the top tube decal, a fallacy); we believe it’s actually a Professional SLX.
The stem would be the first thing to go, obviously. Thankfully, the seller says the original stem is included.
1986 De Rosa “Eddie Merckx Super Prestige” – $1600 (burlingame)
1986 De Rosa “Eddie Merckx Super Prestige”- single owner – original – measurements: 55 cm (c-c), 57 cm ( c-t)
I purchased this bike in 1987 in Burlingame, CA and rode it for a few years after which I placed it in dry storage. And, I never crashed it! It has been stored for at least two decades.
There has been no restoration, no paintwork etc. Nor have I detailed the bike. There are some minor chips on the top tube and some light oxidation on some hardware. It is fitted entirely with Campagnolo equipment including the crank set, pedals, brake levers, seat post, headset, bottom bracket, front and rear derailleur, shifters, hubs, etc. The bars are ttt. Rims are Nisi.
The original Campy stem comes with the bike. This classic bike needs a good home.
