Not impressed with the overall package

But the parts appear to be greater than their sum. With a few changes, this could be a nice ride.

Alain Michel was one of France’s top frame builders and this is a fine example of his work. The frame is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen, iridescent brown, gold, and cream. The lugs are delicately outlined by hand with gold, and they have neat circular cutouts at the headtube. The seatstays are faintly stamped a.michel. there seems to have been a decal on the downtube at one time, but it was gone when I bought this frame on ebay several years ago. There are so many cool details about this gorgeous handbuilt frame, it must be seen to be appreciated. I got so many compliments on it.

It doesn’t have a sticker indicating the tubeset, but the seller I got it from on ebay said it was reynolds 531, which seems appropriate.

I’m selling this bike because it’s just a bit too big for me! Its so gorgeous I would definitely keep it otherwise. Fender eyelets f&r. no rack braze ons, but it could still be fitted with racks that have a center mount to the brake bolts.

It’s 52.5 tt x 53ctt with long chainstays and relaxed touring geometry. It has a great “french feel”. I removed the chain tensioner screws, pulled the wheel all the way back in the dropouts and have fit tires up to 35c.

Just put on some new cables & housing & fresh bartape for you!

Shimano 600 headset

Reparto-corse dual pivot brake calipers- bianchi take offs
hand built rear wheel veloce hub/mavic grey ano open pro
Mavic 501 hub/ gold cxp30 rim front
Record crankset- much of the decal is rubbed off
BB is french threaded, I tracked down a campy iso french threaded BB for this build
26.6 laprade style seatpost

There are some paint chips and wear consistent with the age of this bike. the frame is well preserved.
the middle housing guide on the top tube has been damaged, but this doesn’t affect any function.
Everything works great. it’s a fun little ride. Great touring, road, gravel, mixed terrain, randonneuring bike. Suitable for someone about 5’8″-5’10”
