Peugeot Py10FC carbon fiber frame and fork 57 cm – $250 (Lakewood)
For sale is a Peugeot PY10FC frame and
fork in size 57. Super light weight, this was the lightest frame in the pro peloton in the early to mid 80s. Not to be confused with the Vitus Carbone frames, these were built better, with bigger tubes, so they aren’t as flexy as those. Sprinter Sean Kelly rode one of these to a green jersey victory in the Tour de France.
The frame has no dings, crack or dents in the tubes, but it has been ridden by me, so it is not in showroom condition. The only defect in the frame is that the rear brake cable guide nearest to the seatpost is missing its top. This happened in storage, and I was bummed to see that when I took the frame down for photos; other than that it is fully intact.
The reason for selling is that I just don’t ride this anymore, and am making room in the garage. I am the second owner; the first owner was a bike shop owner in upstate NY who got the frame for his personal use as a favor from Peugeot, since he was a Peugeot dealer. He sold it to me back in 2008 or so, and I rode it for several years before handing it up a year or two ago.
It is a great riding frame, and would be good for someone to ride, or restore as it has a lot of history behind it. Asking $250 OBO, or would trade for a frame in the 55-57cm size range, or nice bike componentry.
