Miyata Track

Looks like an excellent bike for the money.

54cm Miyata Track Bike/Fixed Gear w/ Dura Ace 7600 group – $700 (Fishtown)

For sale is an excellent condition Miyata track bike built up predominantly with Dura Ace 7600 parts. It is in excellent condition with low mileage. It has Dura Ace 7600 hubs, DA seatpost, DA 7600 48t crankset (170mm length), DA 18t cog, Koga saddle, Shimano 105 brake caliper and lever, and Cinelli stem (120mm) and handlebars (40cm wide) The hubs spin smoothly and are laced with 28 spokes to Mavic Open Pro clincher rims with Vittoria Rubino Pro tires with plenty of life left. Top tube dimension is 54cm center to center, seattube length is 52.5cm, and headtube length is 145mm. The standover ht is approximately 32″ or 81 cm.

This frame was an extremely high-end frame for its time, and has very little use. It is a splined triple-butted frame, which is a proprietary product that Miyata was making at the time.

1983 Univega Specialissima

Univega Specialissima = Miyata 1000? Hmmmm. In the words of our friend Josh:

“Some argue that the Specialissima is the exact same bike as the Miyata 1000. Although thanks to the cachet generated from the Sheldon Brown website, which claims the Miyata 1000 being “possibly the finest off-the-shelf touring bike available at the time”, the Miyata now lives in infamy and commands some of the highest prices around for a production bike of that era. That said, some frames, such as the more obscure Univega Specialissima sit in the shadows although they are just as capable a competitor.”

The Simplicity of Vintage Cycles

Meaning “most special” in Italian, the Univega Specialissima was the company’s top grand touring model spanning from the early to late 80’s.

24″ junior Miyata Mixte

Looks very good! These are certainly very rare, so we’d be all over it if we didn’t already have a youth Mixte.

24″ Miyata Junior Sport road / racing bike – $195 (Hopewell)

24″ Miyata Sport Junior racing / road bike for sale.
Older but high quality bike (made in Japan) in very good shape.
My daughter absolutely loved this fast and light bike because she was able to keep up with the adults and make a 15-20 miles round trips – at the age of 8!!!
Very well built bike. One pedal stroke and the wheels spin forever.
All original except the Bontrager Race kids seat. I also replaced the front bolt on hub so now is much easier to remove the front wheel with the quick release.
The current tires are down to 50% tread – still good to ride but the bike comes with a pair of brand new tires and one spare tube.
In 100% working condition, wheels are true, very good paint. Needs nothing.

Beautiful 54cm Orange Miyata 912 Campagnolo / Modolo Custom Equipped – $400 (Greenpoint)

Beautiful bike! In excellent condition just needs a superficial cleaning… This 80’s Miyata 912 was originally sold as a frame set and custom ordered with parts of the owner’s choosing. This one was set up with all Italian parts including Cinelli stem & handlebar, Modolo Speedy brake set & carbon shifters, Campagnolo record crank set, derailleurs and seat post. (I have the original Campagnolo clip pedals and will include those instead of the MKS pedals shown here also the bell is not included.) I can provide a generic 27″ wheelset & saddle with this if you like for an extra $50. I purchased the bike without a wheelset. Call me if interested

High-end Miyata

If this is what the seller claims it to be, then this is a very high-end Miyata for what ostensibly appears to be a not very high-end price.

(Then, maybe he can use proceeds from the sale to invest in a keyboard with a working Caps Lock button and a camera with a zoom-out function.)
